HASC – Vino 101 Beverage Training Program  

Easy & Cost Effective On-ine Employee Training

The HASC Vino 101 alcohol beverage training program offers a convenient and effective way to train employees on the basics of the spirits business.  From the basics of wine and key points of wine sales and service, to beer and spirits, your employees will gain the basic knowledge they need to increase beverage sales for your restaurant.

 

For only $299 per location, you can sign on to access 4 comprehensive lessons for an unlimited number of employees.  Vino 101 offers simple navigation and helpful tools to reinforce learning. Plus, this training provides a sophisticated on-line record management system, which tracks all student training information and networks all locations within your company. Now it’s extremely easy to educate your employees, increase wine and beverage sales and improve the guest’s experience.

 

 

 

The course teaches foodservice employees the basics about wine and aids in recommending, selling and serving wine. Vino 101 is interactive and uses video, high resolution photographs, Flash animations, an extensive wine-related glossary and remediation questions to build a comprehensive knowledge base.  Wine training does not get any easier.

 

4 Comprehensive Lessons

 

  • What is wine? — Teaches how wine is made, How to read a wine label andCharacteristics of wine (Color and appearance, nose, fruit, taste, tannin, balance, length, finish)
  • Grape varietals — Includes general information about each of the major grapes varietals of retail and commercial wine sales; Features specifics of predominant flavors, aromas, styles, and how to pair wine with food; Sparkling and dessert wines are also explored
  • Wine-Producing regions — Details the major wine producing areas using animated maps and colorful illustrations; Geographic characteristics and styles are noted here 
  • Serving wine — Demonstration of the correct way to open a bottle of wine and/or champagne; Teaches how to serve wine, the correct glassware to use, how and why to decant, and proper temperatures; Valuable tips to help recommend and sell wine more comfortably are also shared

 

End-of-course Assessment

 

At the end of the course, a final quiz helps strengthen learning and rewards employees with a personalized Certificate of Achievement for successful completion.

 

Vino 101 is approximately 120 minutes in length. A printable glossary of all wine-related terms is available. This server wine training program can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection – at the restaurant, at home, or from an Internet cafe or public library. Students may log in with unlimited access to the tutorial and resources for $299.00 USD per location, per year.
