SCHA Hotel & Lodging Division

American Hotel & Lodging Association Membership

Lodging properties with 51 or more rooms that join the HASC automatically become a member of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, joining thousands of properties across the country and in South Carolina that rely on the HASC and AH&LA to help them save time and money and stay up to date on the latest news, research and trends in the lodging industry. Members also count on the Associations to advocate for favorable laws and regulations, to promote the industry, and to provide a network to meet their peers.

Governmental Affairs

HASC has full time lobbyists representing the industry at the State House in Columbia and with various regulatory agencies to make sure state laws and regulations do not place an undue burden on the industry and that lawmakers understand how they might impact our industry.  Click here for more information.

 

Networking

In addition to local chapter or partner meetings, the HASC holds statewide events where hotel and restaurant operators from all across South Carolina come together with their suppliers for such functions as our statewide golf tournament, Hospitality Day at the State House, Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon, our Duet Dinner for Education. 

 

Co-op Advertising

AH&LA has launched a cooperative consumer advertising program, exclusively for members. The program consists of creating themed ads to appeal to a wide range of consumers and placing them, at preferred rates, in a variety of general and special interest magazines. Both national and regional placements are in the mix, and include some extraordinary values. This targeted program enables members to advertise in publications they might not normally have an opportunity to do so. A consumer website, AMillionWelcomes.com, will include links to the hotels participating in the program and to AH&LA's member directory.

There is no charge to register with the program and no minimum budget or number of ads required.

Hospitality Day at the State House

Every April, the HASC and all local hospitality related associations, host the General Assembly to a Taste of South Carolina during our annual legislative luncheon.  This one-day event shows lawmakers the importance of our industry, while showcasing two dozen participating member restaurants and hotels.
