6th Annual Hospitality Day
at the South Carolina State House

featuring

"A Taste of South CarolinaTM"
Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Noon - 2 PM on the State House grounds

On Wednesday, April 22, 2009, South Carolina's hospitality industry will hold a legislative luncheon unlike any other event on the General Assembly's social calendar – “ a "Taste of South Carolina" featuring restaurants from all across the state serving a taste of their menu specialities.  Legislators are all raves about the quality and selection of foods and the extremely large and friendly industry turnout.  So much so, this event has become one of the highest rated gatherings on their extremely large social calendar.

Everyday at the State House in Columbia, legislators are treated to breakfasts, luncheons, cocktail receptions and dinners by organizations or businesses interested in the legislative process.  These events provide business people with the opportunity to not only let lawmakers get to meet and talk with their constituents, but they also show legislators that the group is concerned about the laws being considered that impact their business.

Participation at this year's event is going to be crucial to your business.  In this tight budget year, the Legislature is looking at taxes, tax exemptions, how government uses taxes and anything else they can do to fund government.  It is incumbent on every restaurant and hotel in our state to make sure they don't target us!  In addition, if you sell alcohol, the Legislature is looking to mandate that you recycle all of your glass and other products.  Your participation will help us protect your business!

This event cannot happen without support of the industry through restaurant participation and financial sponsors!  The deadline to be included on all of the invitations, signs and other promotional material is March 18, 2009.  We need your commitment to make this event happen.  Please click on the sponsor or participation links below to complete the forms by March 18.

Past menus have included stuffed shrimp, steak, lamb chops, shrimp & grits, fried catfish and an array of other great foods.  Participating restaurants receive the top billing for the event.  For more information about your restaurant participating, please click here.

Hospitality Day at the State House is hosted by the Greater Charleston Hotel & Motel Association, the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, the Columbia Hotel & Motel Association, the Columbia Restaurant Association, the Florence Innkeepers Association, the Greenville Hospitality Association, the Hilton Head Hospitality Association, the Hospitality Association of South Carolina, the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association and the Spartanburg Area Restaurant Association.

Everyone involved in the hospitality industry is invited to attend!  Your attendance could help our industry convince the General Assembly to restore massive state budget cuts for tourism advertising and promotion.

To register to attend, please click here.  This is a private ticketed event!  You must be in the hospitality/tourism industry or an industry supplier to attend.
